Isaiah 62:2-5
God has a new name for you, one that reflects your true identity as a child of God. According to Isaiah 62:2, “The nations will see your vindication, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.”
This new name is a symbol of your redemption and salvation. It’s a reminder that you’re no longer defined by your past, but by your future in Him.
As Isaiah 62:3-4 states, “You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah.”
You are a crown of splendor, a royal diadem in God’s hand. You are no longer deserted or desolate, but loved and cherished.
Isaiah 62:5 confirms this, saying, “As a young man marries a maiden, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.”
You are the bride of Christ, and God rejoices over you with the same joy a bridegroom feels for his bride. Let’s embrace our new names and live out our true identities in Christ.
It is time to embrace the new and let go of the old past.
